Is the Postura Method Worth Trying?
Have you been struggling with lower back pain and heard about the Postura Method as a potential solution? This new program claims to offer relief from lower back discomfort requiring just 7 minutes a day.
After giving the Postura Method a try, here is my honest take and you can assess if it’s going to be right for you.
I personally experience some stiffness in my lower back after working long hours in front of the computer. This has been going on for years and often results in some pain in my lumbar area later on in the day.
The Postura Method program is essentially a series of short videos delivered by Gemma Chavez Kenny, the physiotherapist behind the program. There are 12 videos in total with each one being no longer than 3-4 minutes in length. The thing I really like is that the videos don’t take much time, but they are packed with value.
Gemma begins by talking you through the common causes of lower back pain, and helps you to assess what is causing your lower back pain. After this, she guides you through various techniques and movements from stretches to mobility exercises and light strength training. Everything she teaches you is geared towards helping to reduce any pain or stiffness in the lower back area.
Do You Have a Busy Schedule?
The thing I like the most about the Postura Method is how easy it is to fit into my day. Gemma gives you the basic Postura Method which only takes 7 minutes to complete. Most days I can complete it in under 5 minutes and it immediately reduces the stiffness in my lower back. I like to complete the Postura Method when I get up in the morning as I find my lower back can be quite stiff first thing. I am really enjoying completing the movements each day and I think it’s now a part of my permanent daily routine.
Throughout the program, Gemma provides you with around 12 different exercises and techniques that you can try out on top of the basic Postura Method she gives you. I like to play around with these and I have already incorporated a couple of them into my daily routine.
This Postura Method program is great if you are time strapped and spend a lot of time in front of the computers. I am feeling far more flexible since starting the program and it really has not encroached on my schedule whatsoever. In fact I would say it’s been highly enjoyable.
Are You Open to Non-Surgical Methods?
I know lots of people are now opting to have surgery to fix their back related issues. The thing I like about the Postura Method is it naturally addresses the root cause which is often a combination of poor posture, lack of flexibility and lack of movement on a daily basis.
Personally, I would rather go down the natural route, whilst it might take me a little longer, I feel like my body will appreciate it more in the long term rather. If I had surgery then it might help in the short term but if I don’t incorporate some stretching and movement into my daily routine then I will probably see other issues in due course.
If you would rather go down the natural root, addressing the root cause of your lower back pain, then give the Postura Method a try.
